This is the roll of the officers and men of the Army, the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines, who were personally handed the Crimea Medal by Her Majesty Queen Victoria on 18th May 1855. It provides an account of the award ceremony, an alphabetical surname list of recipients and a Regimental list, with a surname index by rank. The details which are noted may include titles, forename(s), number, rank, Crimean War Medal entitlements (where known) and a date of return to England. There are even cases of men being present who had not yet served in the Crimea.
