Detailed modelling of groundwater systems is difficult but often vital when they are drinking water sources. Further advances in model calibration are evident from discussion of the use of model reduction techniques. Great progress has been made in assessment of uncertainty of model outputs and how to decrease this uncertainty. However, policy makers still find it hard to cope with model predictions enriched with measures of quantified uncertainty.
