Nudist culture boomed in the 1950s and early 1960s, following a landmark ruling which permitted such material to be freely distributed via the US mail. Of course, these publications were not aimed solely at fellow naturists; although their content and context was strictly non-sexual, the ample swathes of female flesh they offered nonetheless provided the average man with the only masturbatory material which was freely available.
