Why Second Citizenship? Aside from taxation, there are many compelling reasons for becoming a dual national. For example, if you are fortunate enough to acquire citizenship in one of the countries presently a member of the european Union (UE), you gain the right to live and work in any of these 25 countries. In additiona, you may be entitled to second citizenship if your parents or any of your grandparents were born in an EU country, although the rules vary among countries. It is certainly work your consideration, at least in the context of your financial and retirement planning. A most important consideration when seeking another citizenship is how easily you can travel using that country's passport. The goal is to enjoy as much visa-free travel as possible, especially to those countries you wish to visit regularly. This book gives you all of the countries by region in which you could gain a second passport legally.
