Lee Bullen has lived and played football around the world. He worked his passage, often doing other work, and only made the game his sole living late in his career. That fulfilled the dream that had led a young Lee to say a tearful farewell to his family in Scotland and fly to Australia. What started as a fleeting adventure led to him playing in Hong Kong and Greece before finally making the grade in England, which had long been his ambition. Bullen had his fair share of heartbreaks along the way especially losing in the Scottish Cup Final with Dunfirmline Athletic but all of those were wiped away when he led Sheffield Wednesday to promotion in front of more than 40,000 of their fans at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Following his playing career, Lee moved into coaching, initially as assistant coach with Falkirk. He's now back at Sheffield Wednesday as development coach beside being a partner in an estate agency.

Hailing from Penicuik in Midlothian, Lee Bullen signed for Dunfermline Athletic as a teenager before moving to Meadowbank Thistle and Stenhousemuir. Despite being unable to establish himself in Scottish football Lee showed the determination to succeed that has been prevalent through his career and signed for Wollongong Wolves in Australia before moving to Hong Kong to play league football for the next four seasons. Two years playing first division football with Greek side Kalamata preceded a move back to Dunfermline Athletic for four seasons and a Scottish Cup Final appearance in 2004 before being signed by Sheffield Wednesday. Establishing himself as an integral part of the Hillsborough side, Lee was appointed captain and led the team to victory in the 2005 the Play-Off Final, becoming a firm favourite of the Owls' supporters in the process. Following retirement from playing, Lee moved into football coaching, first as assistant at Falkirk and latterly back at Sheffield Wednesday where he's currently development coach, charged with bringing on the future talent for the club.
