Ruth Chambers has been a GP for over 20 years. During that time she has been a professor of general practice at Staffordshire University and written over 40 books, including Back Pain Matters in Primary Care (Radcliffe Medical Press, 2001). Ruth is currently undertaking a project for the Department of Health as part of its 'Back to Work' campaign; helping GPs and pharmacists to help the general public return to work after illness or injury.
