Synopsis

The quality of leadership is often the key difference between organizational success and failure, creating either a positive and energizing place to work or a negative, stressful environment. This manual - for managers, directors, trainers, councilors, and human resource personnel - will help create cultures and working environments that motivate and inspire people. It presents effective leadership as inseparable from other issues of workplace well-being, and as something that can pay dividends in terms of higher standards of work, higher levels of job satisfaction, a better working environment, fewer mistakes, diffusing difficult situations, clearer procedures and expectations, and more opportunities for learning. To help unlock these benefits, the book provides background information and a theoretical underpinning on leadership in modern organizations, and includes exercises, leadership biographies, and presentation slides.
