About the Author

Dr Prakash obtained his Ph.D. in Materials Science from Cranfield University in U.K. and his topic was Nondestructive Testing of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic Composites. He is Dean in the Research and Consultancy Division at Birla Institute of Technology and Science. He has been a Visiting Professor of Biomedical Engineering under exchange of scientists' scheme of the Royal Academy in UK and the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), Scientific Attache/Science Counsellor at the Indian Embassy, U.S.A., and worked as Science Counsellor. He was deputed to Tulane University, New Orleans, U.S.A. in 1997. He is a member of a number of international societies. He has produced more than 100 research papers, has guided seven Ph.D.s. and a number of postgraduate and undergraduate projects.
