From the Back Cover:
Martin Brundle is known throughout much of the English-speaking world as the voice of Formula One. He was a successful Grand Prix driver for teams such as McLaren, Benetton, Brabham, and Tyrrell. In 1988, he was the World Sportscar Champion, a category in which he reigned supreme.

He first shot to fame when he had an epic tussle for the British Formula Three championship against Ayrton Senna. In identical cars, Brundle beat Senna eight times, led the series, and finally finished a close second after more than 20 thrilling races.

This fascinating book follows Martin's remarkable career that started with banger racing as a child, beating the grown-ups, through touring cars in which he won against some of the biggest names in the sport. He battled with Senna and was an F1 teammate with such legends as Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen. He became a top TV broadcaster, winning many awards, making F1 compelling to watch for tens of millions.

This 256-page book is packed with Brundle's own memorabilia, contributions from more than 50 personalities in the motor racing world, and candid comments that are informative, surprising, revealing, pithy, and humorous. Included is a selection of his great one-liners from TV with ITV, the BBC, and the Sky F1 Channel.

About the Author:

Martin Brundle's Formula 1 career was complete with podiums and battles against the likes of Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna. Brundle went straight from racing to commentating with Murray Walker in 1997. His ability and enthusiasm were evident. Murray hailed Brundle as his favourite commentator. In his 16 seasons commentating, Martin has attained a Walker-esque status in the world of F1 broadcasting.

Philip Porter has written about 30 motoring books, twice winning the Montagu Trophy for best motoring book of the year. A lifelong motor racing enthusiast, that enthusiasm was largely fired by Stirling Moss. Like so many young boys in the fifties, he was Philip’s absolute hero. As a consequence, Philip began successfully competing in motor sport while still at school. He began acquiring classic sports cars long before it became a boom and owns 9600 HP, the oldest E-type in existence. This led to some motoring journalism among his busy business career. He later satisfied his competitive spirit with flying hot air balloons and airships, winning the silver medal at the 1991 European Airship Championships. In 1992 he became the first person ever to fly an airship in Africa. He is Chairman of the Sherlock Holmes Society and an active member of the Jerome K. Jerome Society. In 1997 he and his wife Julie founded the International Jaguar XK Club and in 2004 they started the Jaguar E-type Club. Philip edits both monthly magazines and Sir Stirling is Patron of the XK Club. Philip and Julie live in a Tudor farmhouse in Worcestershire and have their offices in an adjoining thatched barn.
