About the Author

M. F. Smith is a professor of animal sciences at the University of Missouri. He is the recipient of a number of teaching awards, including the American Society of Animal Science Distinguished Teaching Award and the University of Missouri Graduate Mentor Award. He lives in Columbia, Missouri. J. L. Pate is the Director of the Center for Reproductive Biology and Health and a professor of reproductive physiology at Pennsylvania State University. She has also served on National Institutes of Health and United States Department of Agriculture review panels. M. C. Lucy is a professor of Animal Science at the University of Missouri–Columbia and the Leader of the Animal Reproductive Biology Cluster. He is recipient of the ADSA Foundation Scholar Award, the ADSA Pfizer Animal Health Physiology Award, the ASAS Physiology and Endocrinology Award, and the Midwestern Section ASAS Outstanding Young Researcher Award. T. E. Spencer is a professor of Animal Science and an AgriLife Research Faculty Fellow at Texas A&M University.
