Synopsis

A fascinating exploration and ambitious survey, this long overdue publication features many of the most notable artworks produced at Graphicstudio, a print and sculptural multiples atelier based at the University of South Florida. Since its founding in 1968, the studio has developed an international reputation.  It has been the subject of numerous exhibitions and archived by the National Gallery of Art. This expansive volume highlights over one hundred works of art by more than forty prominent Graphicstudio artists, including Louise Bourgeois, Jim Dine, Alex Katz, Christian Marclay, Vik Muniz and Theo Wujcik. It features interviews with current and past Graphicstudio directors as well as reflections on their personal experiences at the workshop from artists, including Chuck Close, Keith Edmier, Guillermo Kuitca, Roy Lichtenstein, Los Carpinteros, Allan McCollum, Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Ed Ruscha, Kiki Smith, Janaina Tschäpe and Richard Tuttle.

About the Author


Jade Dellinger is an independent curator who has organized major solo museum shows for such artists as Allan McCollum, Ann Hamilton & Andrew Deutsch, Atelier Van Lieshout, Carlos Amorales, Janaina Tschäpe, Keith Haring, and The Art Guys. His most recent curatorial projects “Things Not Seen Before: A Tribute to John Cage” and “John Cage’s 33-1/3 – Performed by Audience” were presented at the Tampa Museum of Art, Tempus Projects and at the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Edison State College in Ft. Myers, Florida in 2012, before traveling to the National Gallery of Art- Tbilisi, Georgia.
