Dez Burnell wrote the Penny-Anne and Duck-Duck stories in the late 1950s for his own Penny Anne. Needless to say, Penny Anne had her very own Duck Duck who sat and listened, as mesmerised as Penny Anne herself, to the bedtime stories that Dez and his wife Hazel read to their beautiful, blonde, cheeky, clever little girl. So it has taken fifty years but finally the stories have been taken from the cupboard, the dust brushed off, and the words retyped for other children to enjoy. As for Dez, he has never stopped writing. Penny Anne has grown, married her Prince Charming and raised four strapping boys who all benefitted from Grandad Dez's love of children and childhood. We await the next generation of avid listeners ...
