Merely getting to and from gigs required planning of military precision. No hyperbole was needed to report the frenzied scenes when the Fab Four came to town. The Pattern repeated itself as the world went Beatle-crazy in 1964. Less than two months after setting foot on American soil, they held the top five spots on the Billboard chart.
The venues got bigger, and competing with a deafening wall of fan worship was an unequal task. Before they tired of the screamfests and retreated to the studio, The Beatles were in the eye of an extraordinary storm, the epicentre of a seismic cultural shift and era-defining artistic revolution.
