We have all read and heard that when we work with horses, we should feel like we have all the time in the world. Deadlines should not apply. Appointments, meetings, and dinner dates should wait. After all, on one end of the lead rope is a horse that needs a chance to understand what is being asked of him and enough time to figure out the right answer.
But the reality today is that on the other end of the lead rope is a twenty-first-century horse owner, often with a full calendar, a mobile phone, and always one eye on the clock.
Day after day we promise to train ourselves and our horses to be better at a specific task, but when we get to the barn or stable, there never seems to be enough time.
“Don’t worry,” says Vanessa Bee, horse trainer and founder of the International Horse Agility Club. “What really matters is the quality of the training you do manage to fit in. It is entirely possible to carry out solid, progressive training with a horse in only three minutes a day.”
Here, Vanessa shares her own brief, digestible lessons that can ultimately produce significant gains in both horse and human in very short sessions. Her refreshing and realistic method offers 35 ground exercises, 25 ridden exercises, and 15 “real world” scenarios that, in no time, will get you out and about with a safe, sane, well-trained horse.
Vanessa Bee is the founder of the International Horse Agility Club (thehorseagilityclub.com). With a training facility in England and her own method known as Positive Horsemanship, she specializes in building relationships between horses and handlers from the ground up.
Vanessa has been around horses most of her life, working in racing stables throughout her teens, then driving competitively into her early twenties. In the late nineties, Vanessa began to read, study, and work with some of the greatest horsemen of the age. She soon discovered that there are as many ways of teaching horsemanship as there are horses and handlers in the world.
As a qualified teacher with a degree in education, Vanessa has used her skills to develop a series of courses that teach people of all abilities and experience levels to achieve a positive relationship with their horse. By creating the International Horse Agility Club, she has provided a social and competitive outlet for those relationships to grow. She is the author of The Horse Agility Handbook and the Horse Agility DVD.

Paperback. Condition: Very Good. Do you, day after day, make a promise to train yourself and your horse to be better at something, but there just doesn't seem to be enough time? Don't worry, what really matters is the quality of the training you do manage to fit in. It really is possible to carry out good quality, progressive training with a horse in only 3 minutes a day. Educator and horse trainer Vanessa Bee's 'light bulb moment' was when she realised that if a training session had a realistic goal, every horse achieved the goal in under three minutes. This led her to create techniques appropriate for use in brief digestible lessons that produce significant gains in short sessions. This refreshing book offers 35 ground exercises, 24 ridden exercises, and 25 'real-world' exercises that will get you out and about with a safe, sane, well-trained horse. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged. Seller Inventory # GOR007474283
