This book is the third installment of 'Galdir's Saga'. The geographical backdrop is a little narrower than in the other two books, necessarily so, because it depicts how Galdir attempts to persuade the Emperor Commodus to rescind the annexation of his people in Rome.
The factual material is mainly taken from Gibbon, though Cassius Dio was useful too. I always see Dio as a kind of tabloid journalist of his times as I think he embroidered and often contradicts himself.
My aim in writing this book was to give you a thrilling story based loosely on the history of the times, because I believe that although my writing might be regarded by some as not the best, for me, story is everything.

About the Author

Fredrik Nath is the bestselling author of historical wartime novels including The Cyclist, Farewell Bergerac and Francesca Pascal (World War II), plus Galdir - A Slave's Tale, and Galdir - Rebel of the North (Roman invasion). He is a full-time neurosurgeon based in the northeast of England. In his time, he has run twenty consecutive Great North Run half-marathons, trekked to 6000m in Nepal, and crossed the highest mountain pass in the world.
