The Solstice Shorts Festival celebrates the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year with time themed stories poems and songs. 2017 saw the festival go UK wide, with 12 sites taking part at DUSK, in a wave of words across the UK from Ellon in Aberdeenshire to Redruth in Cornwall. These are the chosen stories and poems from the festival.

" Dusk, a collection of eighteen stories and twenty-eight poems is the wonderful culmination of the 2017 Solstice Shorts Festival, which involved a host of live readings across the UK, from Aberdeen to Cornwall . . . . the quality and the general vision of Dusk unifies the individual short stories, leaving a pleasurably haunting sense of its characters making their way in the world, doing their best to get by as the light begins to turn in that in-between time ‘when anything is possible’"

“Rating: 5 stars”
“I fell completely and utterly in love the moment I read the title of this beautiful little treasure . . . there is a wealth of stories and poems dedicated to the dusk. This volume is comprised of the best creations of 2017 and it is a pure joy for every dusk and winter lover. 18 stories, 29 poems dedicated to winter and twilight. Every work is top-notch but there were some stories that were simply outstanding.”
