The Accidental Shepherd is a book of 15 vignettes in the life of Geordie Kinloch. Set in the questionable gentility of rural Scotland with episodes in San Francisco, London, Chicago, New York, the Pyrenees and other places besides. Bowser's Last Stand illustrates how best intentions can have disastrous consequences; Amarillo Nights brings an unexpected intrusion in Geordie's settled household, The Percy Arms dwells on the unrequited longing of distant youth. The paranormal themes of The Ley Line and Kinwhirrie Cat may make the reader feel uneasy. Together the stories suggest that however fast Geordie runs, life's jack-in-the-box is waiting around the next corner to jump out and trip him up.
This book is #4 in the Geordie Kinloch Quartet of short stories.

"Each of the fifteen stories in The Accidental Shepherd should be read on its own merits as a stand-alone vignette in the life of Geordie Kinloch. Some were inspired by experiences and observations of the author and his friends, others are too far-fetched to be autobiographical." Pp.137, signed by the author to half-title page. Paperback. VG.
