Twilight Visitor On a secluded stretch of beach girding the idyllic coastal town of Afife, Portugal, sits a lonely man enduring the harsh and blustery winds, hoping to escape the tragic reality of his mediocre life. His solitude is broken by the appearance of a strangely beautiful and mysterious woman who engages him in a bizarre dialogue. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, a global crisis erupts, quickly mushrooming in just 24-hours into a worldwide event which threatens the very survival of all mankind. Mateus Cordozo has no idea that his dysfunctional life is about to radically change, and that this woman is in fact leading him down a road which will challenge his core values as he faces the crisis - one which he has the power to prevent, if he chooses to. "Twilight Visitor is an international thriller, with a complicated, intense plot and colourful characters. Its elegant prose, rich with original metaphors and succinct descriptions, creates an illusion of dazzling sceneries, almost palpable components of reality, and suspense, deftly mixed with philosophical and political dilemmas of contemporary life. The excitement of reading it ends only on the last page." Alex Markman Author of Contra-ODESSA

...you will most likely be deeply enthralled with the plot. Laplaine does a wonderful job painting a very descriptive picture for you, and helps you immerse yourself into the story's scenes. There is a great deal of political and military strategy within Twilight Visitor while you, as the reader, are asked to open your mind to the possibility of other worldly governments keeping an eye on planets throughout the galaxy. Laplaine asks you to open your mind and expand your consciousness...- Red City Review
On the beach at Afife, a lonely and disillusioned man meets a beautiful and enigmatic woman. She introduces herself as Serena and together they drink wine and talk. A parallel story follows the main players involved in the rapidly approaching world holocaust as they attempt to prevent the headlong rush towards Armageddon...Laplaine's mastery of the two plot lines is quite extraordinary as he balances the pastoral and tranquil setting of the beach scenes with a high concept thriller that is comparable with the best of Dan Brown or Jack Higgins.- Novelist, David Luddington
Though there are many reasons why Réal Laplaine's writing is so captivating - his sense of bizarre stories, his ability to make the surreal seem more real than our known reality, the underlying philosophical issues about the future of mankind his stories raise...chief among the qualities of his success is the eloquence of his manipulation of language...he challenges us to consider the very plausible presence of off-worlders and draws our attention to significant issues we should be addressing - all in a language so eloquent that is mesmerizing. Grady Harp HALL OF FAME TOP 100 REVIEWER
The story races along with (the) pace of a Tom Clancy thriller but the depth of the plot is rich in complexities philosophical ideas. Laplaine has a good descriptive style that never interferes with the flow of the narrative as he builds highly credible scenarios that give the reader a true feeling that this is all too close for comfort. Highly recommended for readers who like fast paced thrillers but with an ingenious twist.Book-Reviewer.com
