One of the most impressive and memorable collections I've read this year. . .Readers will find much to praise in this cohesive collection of strong narrative poems. Accardi's are honest words, and with them she displays a profound understanding of women's inner strength and needs. The clarity she achieves makes her poetry highly readable, and her intuitive sense of sound and cadence, of knowing just when to break a line for effect, of crafting concluding lines that tend to reverberate in the mind offer evidence of her mastery of craft."  Writing Without Paper Mom Egg ReviewTo read Only More So is to step into pools of lush, full waters only to be pulled under by currents. . . it is first and foremost astoundingly brave poetry because it explores subjects such as oppression, violence, rape, ethnic cleansing, and breast cancer. Women, in particular and unequally, have had to bear these tragic events, often alone and without a voice. The leap of faith comes through Accardi's articulation of these events with grace and clarity.       --Barbara Ellen Sorensen

Review:
"Readers familiar with Accardi's work know that the almost moonstruck effect of sexuality wanted or not on the speakers who populate her poems is an ongoing theme."--Michael Northern, WordGathering

"These are the poems of a person fully engaged in the 21st Century and all of its endless dramas, sometimes political in nature, sometimes personal, but always maintaining a sense of true ancestral history. Surprisingly, some of Ms. Borges Accardi s power as a poet comes when these two approaches meet head on." --Sam Pereira, Poetry International

"Accardi is the rebel-muse. The wise traveler. The Aunt who always brought you good books along with sweets from a faraway place. The one with the best stories, who seems to be listening carefully even as she s sharing with you what she s learned, what she s still struggling to understand about the wide, marvelous and confounding world." --Lisa Hartz, Executive Director, Seven Cities Writers Project

"Outstanding poems"--The Poetry Kit --(UK) Five ***** Review

Book Description Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Only More So is a collection of lyric poems. Sometimes a bridge in a sad song, other times an echo that threatens to develop then fades, the images blend, twist, and entangle one another: a marriage is a song, then it's a body, and finally a boat blind in the sea listening for the fog horn. We find ourselves alone in the spaces where atrocity meets the marriage bed-in those silences that are chosen, those that are forced, those that must be, and those that kill. In Prague" is as close to a pure definition of poetry we get, where memory is kinetic action, where language is recorded in the land itself, where the names of things tell us what they really are."-Carlo Matos (author of A School for Fisherman). "Navigates a strangely familiar territory through a chorus of forgotten and persistent voices. In this challenging and rewarding book, the poet births grotesque monsters to awaken her audience, and then coaxes them to sleep with remnants of a song."--Rain Taxi A collection of lyric poems, where we find ourselves in those silences that are chosen, those that are forced, those that must be, and those that kill.
