About the Author

Inara Strungs is a Latvian Australian who writes contemporary fiction and nonfiction, with her previously published novel being Sunstone. She has qualifications in medicine and pathology, and a BA (with a major in German and honours in English). She works as a pathologist and lives in Brisbane with her partner and teenage daughter.

Inara's interest in local history and in her parents' unique enterprise (and a tendency to hoard and preserve old things) prompted her to research the area and the bakery and gather recollections from her family.
