As claims of fraud fought for airtime and column inches beside accusations of anti-Semitism and anti-Ukrainian sentiment, Helen withdrew from the literary scene to become a lawyer.

About the Author:
Helen Dale has previously worked as a lawyer, political staffer, and advertising copywriter. She became the youngest winner of Australia’s Miles Franklin Award with her first novel, The Hand that Signed the Paper, leaving the country shortly after it caused a storm of controversy.
