Synopsis
This is the story written for children of how the Miraculous Staircase in the Loretto Chapel came to be built. The Loretto Chapel is a real place in Santa Fe, NM. It does have a special staircase, built by an unknown carpenter more than 100 years ago. In this book, a lonely mouse tells the tale to a dove who appears on Christmas eve in answer to his prayer.

About the Author
June Kirkpatrick has always been a story teller, first to her children and now to her grandchildren. A long-time New Mexican, she lives in Santa Fe with her husband Charles and a variety of animals. The Loretto Chapel (The Chapel of our Lady of Light) and the Sisters of Loretto were her inspiration for this book.
This is June's second book. Her first book, Barn Kitty, is still popular.
