Synopsis

Stuart Kestenbaum, a potter and poet, has been a central figure in the contemporary craft scene for three decades. His position as the director of the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts provides a rare and special perspective on creativity and the human relationships it engenders. His careful observations, warmed by his wisdom and buoyed by his wit, offer unique insights for makers and anyone who enjoys the work of the hand. "The View from Here" offers more than three dozen observations made over the years in the Haystack newsletter and also includes the texts from three speeches, available here for the first time.
