Party successfully introduces the days of the week as Little Mouse prepares for his party, scheduled for Sunday. Days are printed in bold, helping emphasize the concept of daily routines. Little Mouse is a careful planner-but he is not perfect. A bucket of water tips over, eggs fall on the floor, balloons sail away-all adding to the humor and good cheer. The text is just right for toddlers, with one short sentence per page. Each book includes endpapers that hint at the plot. The large, simple watercolor illustrations on white backgrounds are charming, adding to the cheerful tone. The crisp, warm art, easy texts, and simple plots make these titles terrific for lap-sharing, toddler storytime, and beginning readers.
