Elizabeth Rees received her B.A. from Wesleyan University, and her M.A. in Creative Writing from Boston University. For over 15 years, she taught creative writing and literature full-time several prestigious institutions, including the U.S. Naval Academy, Johns Hopkins University's graduate program in Washington, D.C., Howard University, Macalester College, Harvard University, Boston University, and Boston College. Since 1994, she has worked as a Poet-in-the-Schools for the Maryland State Arts Council. She also teaches privately at The Writer's Center in the New Directions Psychoanalytic Writing Program in Washington, D.C. Three of Rees' four published chapbooks have won national contests, and her first collection of poems, Returning From Egypt, was a finalist in over 70 national contests. Rees has also published over 250 poems in magazines around the country.
