Jack Fletcher is a man with a dream. Ever since being introduced to North Western Australia in 1965, Jack saw the potential in this fertile land. The company he leads, ALCCO, makes significant progress but, as a Texan in Oz, (Australia), Jack is a foreigner. An upstart “Tall Poppy” who not only thinks he knows more about agriculture and land management than they do, but continues to prove it. To many in the government, his company is not welcome. While taming the land and clearing government obstacles is a chore, it can be done with proper financing. Jack's real battles are fought in boardrooms around the world in what he calls his role as the “Loan Ranger”. In that role, he seeks financial support from several world financial institutions, the ShahShah of Iran of Iran, the governments of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Korea, and many others.
