Synopsis
Describes the development and life cycle of butterflies from around the world. All aspects of a butterfly's life are dealt with extensively: from its love-life to its particular life-cycle, which includes a complete metamorphosis from egg to caterpillar and then from pupa to butterfly. A large selection has been set aside for systematically covering a representative selection of butterflies from around the world. Each species can easily be found with the help of the alphabetical index, which contains both the English and the Latin names. The beautiful color photographs are mainly of living butterflies, some in their natural surroundings and some in the tropical butterfly garden of the Noorder Zoo in Emmen, the Netherlands.
