Rick Ruggles began his unusual photographic journey in 2001 with the discovery of a heart-shaped pothole. Since then, he has captured thousands of Found Hearts, photographing them exactly as he discovered them. He has created a collection of framed prints, posters, and greeting cards using his images, which both embrace and move beyond our usual notions of love. In January of 2008 he had his first solo show at the Allegany Arts Council in Cumberland MD. He lives outside DC with his wife and dog. In addition to his avocation as a poet, Steve Godwin is a graphic designer and book artist. He began his attempts at poetry at about age 16, later studying creative writing at UNC-Chapel Hill. Steve has completed 2 residencies in poetry at Vermont Studio Center, funded in part by a grant from the North Carolina Regional Arts Council. It was at VSC that Finding Heart had its beginning. Steve lives in Washington DC, in the neighborhood of Bloomingdale.
