"Lynne was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 12 years old. As a young woman, she began her quest to help people with diabetes as the Director of Youth Services of the American Diabetes Association of Southfield, Michigan. She designed and implemented statewide youth services program for young people living with diabetes. This program received national recognition within four years of inception. |
She received a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, from University of Scranton in 1991. She spent the next decade helping people with traumatic head injuries, working for both the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation and the Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ in rehabilitation. She then returned to work in the field of diabetes, this time in marketing and sales. |
Lynne is currently at Sanofi-Aventis as the Senior Product Manager in Diabetes Marketing. Her goal in this position is to inform people with diabetes of their options and to ensure that they are using their medications to achieve the best possible results.

In 1993 she co-founded one of the first non-governmental AIDS/HIV organizations in Russia. AIDS infoshare has grown to be the most influential non-governmental organization dealing with the HIV epidemic in Russia (http://www.infoshare.ru/work/) and continues to fight to get information on the disease into the right hands. It was this work that informed her embrace of her own disease and her political stance on living with a chronic condition. |
