About the Author:

Dr. Marvin Moser is Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine and was the senior medical advisor to the National High Blood Pressure Education Program of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) from 1974 to 2002. He was Chairman of the first Joint National Committee (JNC) on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure in 1977, Vice-Chairman of the committee in 1980, and has participated in each of the JNCs 2 through 7. Dr. Moser was Editor in Chief of the Journal of Clinical Hypertension from 1999 through 2009, and is the author of more than 500 scientific papers, 35 book chapters, and 11 books.
