BY RICH VERMILLION: It was a life-changing experience for me to write this book, working with Glen Hyde and the many people who we interviewed across Texas and Louisiana. To make the book even more appealing to a younger audience (and for fun), I chose to organize it similar to that of a typical movie DVD.

The reader begins with the Narrative, living the adventure in a novel-like flow...up to the fourth day of flight operations. The next section is a Special Feature containing the chapter that describes the history of Glen's remarkable Super DC-3 airplane. The reader is then impacted by the Extra Scenes section, with entertaining true stories not contained within the main Narrative...including my favorite one about the U.S. Marine Corps.

Following that are two Behind the Scenes sections detailing the outstanding work of two of the internationally-known ministries involved in the Katrina relief effort. Next, there is Spiritual Commentary by Rev. Kenneth Copeland that explains the biblical context of the storm itself, and the relief efforts that followed. Finally, the book ends with a Future of Angel Flight 44 chapter that describes how this new aviation ministry (not affiliated with the pre-existing Angel Flight ministries) is taking shape today.
