Carol J. Amato is a author, editor, small business writing coach, and speaker. She has published 26 books, over 175 articles, and two short stories. Her articles have appeared in national publications, and she was a regular contributor to high-tech magazines, such as PC Novice and Smart Computing. Ms. Amato also has been an editor for major publishers and several magazines. She has appeared on television and radio shows.
In addition to Maximize Your Competitive Edge, her recent titles include How to Start and Run a Writers' Critique Group and The World's Easiest Guide to Using the APA, 4th Edition.
Her books include the acclaimed series, Breakthroughs in Science (The Earth, Astronomy, The
Human Body, and Inventions), the bestselling 50 Nifty Science Fair Projects, and Writing Cool Short Stories. Titles due out in 2014 include The World s Easiest Guide to Using the APA, 5th edition, The World s Easiest Guide to Using the MLA, 2nd edition, and Maximize Your Visibility: Exhibiting at Trade Shows on a Shoestring Budget. Also due out in 2014 is the second book in The Phantom Hunters series, The Secret of Blackhurst Manor.
Ms. Amato has a B.A. in Spanish and French from the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon, and an M.A. in Cultural Anthropology from California State University, Fullerton, California.
She is a board member of the Writer's Club of Whittier, Inc., a professional writers' workshop, and past president of the Professional Writers of Orange County. She was a board member of the Orange County Section of the Independent Writers of Southern California from 1988-1993. She is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, and the World Who's Who of Women.
