Ana at Four Times is the mark of what Ana s (Ana Mendieta, Cuban artist, born in Havana November 18, 1948 died tragically in New York, September 8, 1985)totality was, in the same way that her silhouettes transcend her life as a human being to become the imprint of her conception of the world and of life. These stories have a big part of fable, many things created by my imagination and my perception of Ana through our conversations. However, I hope they reflect the devotion with which I wrote them, how much I valued her friendship, admired her as an artist and regretted her premature death.
