Synopsis
To help an individual prepare for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) examination, the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) has developed a study guide. In each chapter of the study guide, pertinent physician coding principles are followed by coding scenarios related to that chapter. The study guide is not an introduction to coding but a review of coding concepts. It includes all the content sections found in the exam AND two full practice exams with answers and rationales. Using an easy-to-follow outline format, the text covers anatomy and terminology for each body area, reimbursement issues, and an overview of CPT, ICD-9-CM, and HCPCS coding. The two practice exams simulate the examination experience to give you added confidence when taking the CPC exam.
