The book includes an introductory text by curator Sofia Hernandez Chong Cuy about Camp Campaign, an art project by artists Ayreen Anastas and Rene Gabri. The project included a cross-country road trip in the USA during which the artists visited different types of camps-from detention camps to summer camps. An essay by art historian TJ Demos analyses in-depth Camp Campaign as a political art project. The book also includes statements, illustrations and photography by Anastas and Gabri, as well as a script that the artists co-authored and pseudonymously signed RL and VL. The book has a forward by Anne J. Barlow, executive director of Art in General, who introduces Art in General and the New Commissions Program.
