About the Author

Sam Posey's 20-year racing career includes drives in the Indianapolis 500, the United States Grand Prix, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the 12 Hours of Sebring, where he won in 1975. As a writer Posey is know for his books The Mudge Pond Express and Playing With Trains. Over the last four decades he has published numerous articles for The New York Times, Readers Digest, Sports Illustrated, and Road & Track. He is also a well-respected TV commentator, working with ABC Sports, Speedvision, and NBC Sports. In 1990 he won and Emmy award for best writing.
