More than a daily prayer book for women in transition, A Devotional for Women in Separation and Divorce is a survival guide. Acknowledging that many Christian women have surrendered wholly to God and to their husbands in marriage, Mona Brown Ketner coaches these women on the possibilities prayer opens for them while they begin their lives free of verbal, physical, mental and sexual abuse by wayward spouses. She encourages women to recognize that God does not give anyone the right to engage in such behavior and builds her readers a safehouse of self-forgiveness, patience and faith while also providing practical advice, from the necessity of a good lawyer to the value of an evening out with friends.
