About the Author:

Max Holechek, Author
By night, Max writes stories and by day he designs electronic entertainment for children and their families. The software Max has worked on has won over twenty-five awards, some of which include: Parent's Choice Award, Children's Software Revue and the National Parenting Center. Max has also enjoyed working on interactive storytelling, where he has collaborated on two interactive stories.

On weekends, you'll find Max and his son in a toy store, puttering in the kid s book section, or booing the villain at a matinee. He lives in Seattle, with his wife, son, and their tin toy robot collection.

Darrell Toland, Illustrator
Darrell Toland started drawing when he was five years old. After graduating college with a fine art degree, he made a living selling paintings, illustrations and working in graphic design.

Darrell Toland has experience in the television industry as a motion designer and animator. He has won awards for his print, illustration and broadcast work, including five Emmy® Awards and three Telly Awards.

Darrell works as an artist, writer, illustrator and cartoonist. He loves sci-fi movies, tools and building robots. He lives in Seattle with his wife and two children. He is currently producing the web comic Stix and Bones.

My 4 year old son and I went over and picked up a copy. Max and Darrell couldn't have been nicer! They both signed the book for my son and chatted with him for a bit. The book is great and I highly recommend it for boys or girls!

We have read Edsel McFarlan's New Car at least once a day since Saturday. Leo really loves studying each page and loves finding new details each time we read it. Tonight Leo had me read it to him and then asked my husband to read it to him again! He also brought it up to bed with him and set it on his night stand. When I was tucking him in he said 'Mom I really like cars, but maybe 'much later' I will like rockets too'. The boys love the book! The illustrations are mesmerizing and the story is easy to understand. I wish we would have bought more!
