About the Author
I am still amazed that I get to work at what I have a passion for, and on top of that, I get to do another book. This time nature is the subject, something I love to observe. It inspires me.
I have had the opportunity to work with some of my favorite designers: Barb Adams and Alma Allen from Blackbird Designs; Renee Nannaman of Need'l Love Company; and Linda Brannock of Star Quilts Designs. I have been able to design for individuals as well. This year I had an amazing opportunity to design and make a liturgical stole for a friend that became an ordained Deacon in the Episcopal Church. This was a very special assignment: it was very satisfying to create something of importance and very humbling at the same time.
I often wonder if growing up in a military family and moving often influenced me. It may be we had to find ways to entertain ourselves. Now I get to live and work here in my town of Lexington, Mo. It is quaint: full of wonderful people, history and great old homes. And there is an abundance of creative people here. I have given up my shop in the log house. I prefer to travel and teach and I could not keep a shop going if I was always gone. I still sell antiques at shows and design rugs and patterns but I don't have to leave home to do it. Now that seems like a perfect formula to me!
