Have you ever felt good after a hard days work? Your mind and/or your muscles may be tired and sore, but you had a feeling of accomplishment, that you had worked hard and have seen the results. I have had many days like this. There is something to be said about the feeling of accomplishing a task, of doing work. This is especially true of physical labor. I remember taking a group of people from a church where I was the Men's Ministries leader to a ranch where a Christian family had a ministry in hosting youth camps, retreats, etc. Calicento Ranch is one of my favorite places to visit and the Perelli family who owns and runs it is truly a family of God. I had offered volunteer labor to the ranch and labor we did. One of the things needed was a foundation pad to be dug out in the side of a sloping hill. This pad would be used in building a bakery to be used for the ministry. With shovels, gloves and hard work, we dug out that pad. It took the better part of a day to get it done. I remember how sore we all were on the drive back to Orange County where we were from. I remember the dirt, the sweat and the pain and nothing felt better. We had ministered through one of the key areas of life that God has given us: work.
