Despite the widespread belief among the public that drug asset forfeiture laws are corrupting the police, this study finds no credible evidence that the supplemental income the police procure from drug asset forfeiture seizures is influencing them to effectuate drug arrests that are ultimately determined by the judicial system to be legally questionable.
