The Authors
Anne Davies, PhD, is a researcher, writer, and educational consultant in the area of classroom assessment. She has also been a teacher, school and system leader, and has worked at the university level. Author and coauthor of more than 30 books and multimedia resources, as well as numerous chapters and articles, she works nationally and internationally presenting to a wide range of audiences. Sandra Herbst is a noted system leader, author, speaker, and consultant with over twenty years of experience. She has worked in both elementary and secondary schools and is a former classroom and specialty teacher, school administrator, program consultant, and assistant superintendent. Sandra has facilitated professional learning in schools, districts, and organizations across North America in the areas of leadership, instruction, assessment, and evaluation. Her school and district experiences deeply connect learners to practical and possible strategies and approaches. She is the coauthor of three books on the topic of assessment.
