About the Author:
Marty Rhodes Figley is the author of seventeen books for young readers including Emily and Carlo (a book about Emily Dickinson's dog); she has shared the amazing story of Jim the Wonder Dog at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. Born in Joplin, Missouri, she grew up in Springfield, Missouri. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College with a degree in American Studies, she lives in Annandale, Virginia, with her husband and their Airedale terrier, Scarlett.
