I found a lot of things that I look for in a great book. A compelling opener that instantly hooked me. Interesting and engaging characters to follow. And a gripping plot that involves action, mystery, suspense, exotic settings and cool chases that made turning the pages like reading my favorite Crichton novel. (Can you tell I liked it?)

For me it came down to SURPRISES.

Once the main characters begin to get established--John Wolfenson, Jenna Grant, George Wyatt, Dr. Colin Fincher, and so on--we sense a connection between them but can't identify what it is...yet. And that's the fun: unveiling the plot through each of the character's eyes, until the big (really big) plot is revealed.

The twists and surprises happen fast too, and don't let up. The story doesn't "wait" for exciting things to happen, it jumps right in.

It was a great read - I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

The story is fast-moving and enthralling. You will find yourself completely entranced as you are reading it. The characters in this novel are beautifully developed and distinct, and we learn quite a lot about many of them throughout the story. It is beautifully crafted with an extremely intricate plot that all slots together perfectly. There are twists and turns and sudden betrayals - you just couldn't ask for a better book. Definitely check it out!

This is the "sequel" to 2009's 'Demon Days', but can be read as a stand-alone without knowledge of its predecessor.

It is a "quest" drama in the vein of 'National Treasure', a supernatural thriller like 'the Omen', and it is an apocalyptic piece based in Judeo-Christian/Islamic tradition like 'Left Behind'. I use these other works as a comparative example but 'Demon Days' truly stands by itself in a unique place.
Overall this book was a great ride! I had fun and felt like I couldn't get enough.

Wow! The first thing I have to compliment is the pacing of this novel. It isn't too fast that I couldn't keep up with all the characters and their own stories, and I never found myself lost or confused within the plot. It wasn't so slow that I was bored or impatient. The pacing was perfect. The characters are well defined, even the antagonists, and are believable. The plot itself is packed full of adventure and mystery with just enough twists to keep me on my toes but not too many to make it felt cluttered. I started recommending this one not long after I started reading it and it will be a hard novel to forget.

Never have I read a book so full of intriguing plot changes that can keep you guessing `til the very end. Finney and Snell have the kind of collaborating ability that writing teams everywhere only wish they could have. The simple fact that this story could hold even an inkling of truth is profound. A conspiracy theory of the greatest volume this is one series you do not want to miss out on.
You must get a copy you will enjoy this series immensely and beg for more. This is one well worth staying up to read!

This book was recommended to me by a friend. Though this is not the type of book I would normally read, I really enjoyed it because there was a lot of things in the storyline that made it feel like it was very contemporary. While it told a very exciting story, it also dealt with issues that I know a lot of people are talking about a lot. If you are a fan of mysteries, thrillers, or suspense, you will love this book. As I said, I'm not really a fan of those type of books, and I loved this!

There is an incident that occurs early on that puts the main character, Jenna Grant, in jeopardy. After that happened, no one could have pried these books from my hand until I was finished.
The main characters are all fascinating, and I'm not just talking about the heroes or villains. In this novel there are main characters that are not so easy to classify in either of those two broad categories. My personal favorite is Carl Saracen (I can totally see Michael Fassbinder in the movie role). He's a liar, a manipulator, and his actions have put his loved ones in danger. But damn if I wasn't fascinated with everything he does in this book!This book ended up being very different than anything I have ever read before. Okay, so I'm ready for more. The authors better be already working on the next one!

I'll get right to the point -- this is an "epic" story!

You feel like you've been on an adventure.

I first read "Demon Days" and was prepared for the same kind of novel, but instead got something different. Like the other reviewers on this site, I will NOT SPOIL any of the twists and turns (which are numerous). But if you want a story that you can't predict how it will go from chapter to chapter, than pick these books. This is special. I didn't want it to end.

This book will fascinate people that love near death experiences, mystery, horror, suspense, wild rides, history buffs adventure throw in a little romance & you have the book! I know this was a book in fiction but I did enjoy the history aspect of the book, along with the adventure. I could see "Indiana Jones" in this novel! Don't want to spoil the book for anyone so you just gotta read it! It will keep you up nights!(

This book is an insomniac's best friend... and a bibliophile's dream.

When you're not reading it, you'll be thinking about it. You may possibly hear of similar events reported on the news; find yourself becoming more aware of tragedies happening around the world. You may even find yourself playing connect-the-dots to a larger picture.

Two things this book is not - it's never dull or boring.

Perfect pacing, easy to follow, and fleshed-out, believable characters.
When I finished, I wanted more. Much more.

If you love your suspense filled with action, mystery, conspiracy, horror, sudden betrayals, a twist of history, and end of the world scenarios, then this is the book you've sought!
The holy grail of apocalyptic literature!
