Synopsis

Our universe stretches across the vastness of space. There, giant galaxies spangle the heavens and mammoth stars blaze with energy. Planets and moons, asteroids and comets, clouds and dust create stunning scenes of wonder.
The enormity of it all dazzles us. Earth-dimmed vision cannot conceptualize the distances and dimensions of an infinite universe, and our minds struggle to comprehend the reason for it all. Does the universe have any connection to our daily lives on Earth? Is there anything to be gained by studying it, by learning more about the vast spread of space that surrounds our planet?
The Celestial Message answers these questions with a resounding Yes! In simple language and splendid photography, it unveils the mysteries of the universe, providing the reader with a wealth of amazing facts. It moves beyond the facts, however, to contemplate the purpose of our universe. It explores the heart of a Creator who birthed such enormity, yet cherishes frail humanity.
This is a book of worship, a volume that invites the reader to a deeper knowledge of God. Sit quietly as you peruse its pages. Meditate on the One who created these things. Open your heart to hear the celestial message.

About the Author

Morris Yoder is a lifelong resident of Montezuma, Georgia. His fascination with the heavenly realm was born out of tragedy. As a five-year-old boy, he and his mother rushed to the family farm after hearing that his father had been attacked by a bull. There, Morris saw his badly wounded father, Allen, barely clinging to consciousness. A few hours later he passed away.
Morris remembers that his life was instantly changed by this event. An ominous, foreboding sense of emptiness held him in its clutch. In his childlike way of thinking, he couldn't understand why a good God would let a bad bull kill his father. As a result, he became bitter, lonely, and withdrawn.
Nurtured by his mother's loving care, Morris grew older. As he grew, he continued to hear testimonies of how wonderful God was. He felt tired of resenting God and wanted to experience His goodness too. In addition, he desperately wanted a father figure in his life. So, several years after his father's death, Morris made a pact with God. He told God that he would accept what had happened to his father, if God would fill the emptiness in his life and be a personal father to him. God responded to that prayer, and in the years that followed, He revealed Himself to Morris so clearly that it seemed God was always with him just as his earthly father had been.
As Morris looked up into the sky on quiet nights, the awe-inspiring heavens helped to soothe the gloomy emptiness in his being by speaking of something far greater than anything he had experienced on earth. He felt certain as he gazed upward that he was seeing the place where his father had gone and where his new Father dwelled. These realizations sparked his keen interest in the heavens and ultimately led to a more serious study of the cosmos.
In recent years, Morris has been sharing his findings with others at churches and community events. He is also a regular writer for the children's magazine, Nature Friend.
Morris has been married to his wife Elizabeth since 2010. They have one son, Allen.
