Synopsis
The Path of Life tells the story of its author, Ou Wen Wei, now a well-known and highly respected qigong master and healer, then (1974) a young idealist with a wife and baby daughter who found himself imprisoned during China's Cultural Revolution on trumped-up charges. At the same time he also found himself developing a relationship with a supernatural entity identified as Pangu - in Chinese mythology the Creator of the universe, or, in another word, God. But the book is not simply a Chinese version of a "conversation with God"; it is instead more like a wrestling match, with Ou Wen Wei fiercely resisting Pangu's central message, that he has been chosen to lead humanity into its new and final stage of development, the Future World - while also having to wrestle with his ruthless human persecutors in the present world.
