The book challenged long-held beliefs that were stymying progress and invited readers to join the conversation about how to move nursing forward.

About the Author
Susan B. Hassmiller, PhD, RN, FAAN, is the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Senior Adviser for Nursing. In partnership with AARP, she directs the Foundation s Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, which seeks to ensure that everyone in America can live a healthier life, supported by a system in which nurses are essential partners in providing care and promoting health.
Jennifer S. Mensik, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, is Executive Director of nursing, medicine, and pharmacy programs for OnCourse Learning and faculty for Arizona State University College of Nursing and Health Innovation DNP and undergraduate programs.
