From the Inside Flap

TODAY you, or someone in your organization, had a billion dollar idea. Inspiration may have struck in the car or it may have been sketched out on a napkin. It may have been joked aboutat happy hour or even mentioned to a passing executive. But, by tomorrow, that billion dollaridea will be gone.

Why? Because you--like most people in most organizations--are unable to flip the switch that transforms an idea into an innovation. But that's about to change, because today is the day you start igniting those ideas.

Innovation is as much an outcome as it is a process for transforming brilliant ideas into products, processes, and services. Harnessing all of that potential value requires structure, unwavering tenacity, and passion.

With a focus on action, accountability, and results, IGNITE will help you develop a scalable process that you and your organization can implement in order to find, evaluate, develop, and launch your next major innovation. Never again will you be in a position where you only have a brilliant idea.

With the IGNITE Framework in place, every idea has real potential.

Whether you desire to deliver new product lines for a company or launch new services for a nonprofit, this book provides guidance on how to set up an innovation center, fund it, manage it, and engage the right people to maximize the investment. The book brings in case studies and examples from industry-leading organizations so that readers can model the success stories and learn from others' mistakes.

IGNITE motivates you to challenge your organizational culture, to be discontent with the status quo, and to transform your business into one that fans the flames of innovation. Innovation is not a side project, nor a pet project. It is a strategy for future proofing your organization.
And what what you hold in your hands is the field guide.
