Molly Coxe is an award-winning writer and illustrator whose books include Benjamin and Bumper to the Rescue, Big Egg, Cat Traps, The Great Snake Escape, Hot Dog, Princess Pig, R Is for Radish, and Rat Attack. Her awards include a Children’s Choice Award from the International Reading Association, and her early-reader titles were Children’s Book of the Month Club selections. As more rain falls, Hen's gratitude is continually expressed with an "Eggs-cellent!" The repetitive words and phrasing would suit very early readers, and the humor gives the limited narrative a bit of spark. The designer of the Bravemouse Readers stages scenes with felted animal characters, which distinguishes the titles from other beginning reader series.
