Susan F. Craft retired from a 45-year career as a writer for public television, a communications director for a state agency, a continuing education planner for a university, and a proofreader for the SC Senate. She has two adult children, a son-in-law, a granddaughter, and a granddog. An admitted history nerd, she enjoys painting, singing, listening to music, and sitting on her front porch watching rabbits and geese eat her day lilies. Cassia is the third in Susan's Women of the American Revolution trilogy. The Chamomile is the first and Laurel is the second. The Chamomile won the SIBA Okra Pick in 2011 and the Illumination Silver Award in 2016, and Cassia won the Illumination Award in 2016.
